If you’re trying to learn Mac keyboard shortcuts, this is a problem, so here’s a quick reference. But what’s the difference between “⌃” and “⇧,” both basically up arrows? And what the heck is “⌥” supposed to be? You might know that “⌘” corresponds to the Command key, since it actually appears on the keyboard key. Either way, this will launch the Character Viewer, which will allow you to view all the symbols and emojis sorted by categories, making it somewhat easier to locate the one you are looking for.What the Arrow, Squiggly, and Other Symbols Mean You can launch this viewer by clicking the menu bar icon and selecting “ Show Emoji & Symbols“, or by pressing Control + Command + Space. Well, you can access all the different symbols, emojis, special characters easily by using the built-in “ Character Viewer“. There are only a limited number of keys on your keyboard, and there is a whole plethora of special symbols, characters, emojis and whatnot that are supported by devices these days.
